This is the first time I've had the chance to get on a non-military internet server where I could actually see photos of you all. WOW! To be honest, I'd forgotten how wonderful you all are. I left for Iraq the evening you all had what seems to have been an exciting shin-dig. My apology for not planing my now 3rd trip to the sandbox, but hopefully we'll have this thing wrapped up before the 25th reunion. Darlene, thanks for putting this together (as well as the many of you who helped). Even though I couldn't make it, the pictures alone were wonderful to see.

"The time went by so fast (kind of like the last 20 years!), there were so many people that I saw across the room but never had a chance to say hello to - feel free to email me to catch up. I'd like to thank Kathy Comerford for the nicest compliment all night, Scott Fedor for the best hug, and Dave Laffin for sharing the cutest baby photo. It was lovely spending time with all of you again!"

"From Friday's pre-reunion night at Shadows to the actual reunion Saturday night was not even enough time to get to see and talk to everyone. I wasn’t the most out going person back in high school, but I managed to make a few new friends from the reunion and I’m glad it went as well as it did. I want to thank Darlene for taking the time and effort to put the reunion together. I hope we get more than a few gatherings for our 25th year."

"I was expecting you graduates to recognize me and that I would shake hands with you men and receive hugs from you chicks. When I was walking around, I knew I didn't have to say things like, "Hey remember me?" And sure enough, there are those of you who recognized me and said, "Hi Freddy!" Some things in that place happen in a way I did not expect. Take Darlene, for instance: At the entrance, the first former classmate I recognize was this beautiful woman and I thought, "This could be Darlene." And sure enough she recognized me. Boy, was she exited! She gave me a big hug and was so glad to see me. She even helped me out a little, such as, telling the girls in the lobby my name and that she knew me since 1st grade. She asked me if I was nervous. Well, not that I was nervous, but I'm not a good speaker. As I'm typing this sentence, I can hear her say, "Oh Freddy, you are a good speaker." That's what she said whenever I tell some of you about my speaking. She also showed me around the areas of the place and to a few of you former classmates.
I didn't get to talk too much to some of them. For example, Ted Cousin, we recognized each other, we shook hands and... said a few things and... that was it. Same thing with Eric Burnfiet (I think that's how you spell his last name), someone I know from middle school (I forgot his name and he didn't have one of those little black-n-white pictures), Kevin Taber and Brian Strydio. Part of the reason was that some of you are so busy talking. Another reason was that the music should've been turned down a little so we don't have to ruin our voices to be heard. I even got a glass of ice water with me so my throat wouldn't be too dry. Sometimes, I would be a quiet guy that doesn't talk too much. But I can have conversations and I can be understandable (oh boy, there goes Darlene again saying, "Oh Freddy, you are a good speaker."). I notice how some of us were acting like teenagers. Of course, what would you expect when you're having a good time at a reunion?
I was in at least a couple of pictures. The Sinnot sisters had me to be in a few of pictures (why not), so we lined up in a couple of pictures. There were 4 of us. I was next to Eric Strack and we each had a beautiful woman next to us. That's another one of the unexpected things at the reunion. Oh yes, I might as well remember that Jenn Tyler was next to me in one of the pictures jotting her e-mail address on my notebook.
As I was saying shortly before I left, "We'll keep in touch." Maybe I should've been careful in taking it literally. I hope you ladies didn't mind me touching you when I said the word "touch."
